We believe the fragmentation of the industry to be the root cause of this problem. Each of the 500,000 trucking companies and 16,000 freight brokers, digital or not, act like individual closed networks. Loads and capacity can not be efficiently matched if they live in different networks and don’t see each other. The solution is not more drivers, is not more trucks, is not even smarter autonomous trucks, it starts by better utilizing our current capacity.
